Consider this: a 2020 Cadillac XT5 base model starts at $44,095 and can easily get into the $60,000-$70,000 range when up the trim level and add on all the features you’d expect from a luxury vehicle. Now, a fully-loaded, top-tier 2018 Cadillac XT5 can go for as little as $35,000 (according to Kelley Blue Book). That’s about half the price for almost exactly the same vehicle, but with a few more miles on it. It also lets you get luxury vehicles that are out of production, such as the Cadillac CTS.
In general, domestic brands like Cadillac and Lincoln will be the cheapest, as they’re made in America and are plentiful here. Parts and maintenance are also cheap.
