The Most Affordable Luxury Vehicles Are…

Used ones. Consider this: a 2020 Cadillac XT5 base model starts at $44,095 and can easily get into the $60,000-$70,000 range when up the trim level and add on all the features you’d expect from a luxury vehicle. Now, a fully-loaded, top-tier 2018 Cadillac XT5 can go for as little as $35,000 (according to Kelley Blue Book). That’s about half the price for almost exactly the same vehicle, but with a few more miles on it. It also lets you get luxury vehicles that are out of production, such as the Cadillac CTS.

But Which Brands are the Cheapest?

In general, domestic brands like Cadillac and Lincoln will be the cheapest, as they’re made in America and are plentiful here. Parts and maintenance are also cheap. This applies to any domestic luxury vehicle from a non-luxury-focused brand too, like the Buick Regal or the Chrysler 300. Next in line would be the prevalent Japanese imports like Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, and (recently) Mazda. Japanese automakers have been established in the US market for well over 30 years, making their products, parts, and maintenance easy and cheap to obtain. All of these vehicles are as luxurious, if not more so, than their European counterparts, but without the steep prices that are associated with upkeep, repairs, and insurance costs.
